FILM FESTIVAL 2013

FILM FESTIVAL 2013

Bristol’s celebration of African cinema returns to Watershed, expanding into schools and pop up screenings. We’ve toured African film festivals to bring you the very best, and our themes this year are “Belonging” and “Kenya at 50″. Films from Kenya as well as Senegal, Algeria, Angola, Nigeria and France make a passionate, emotional and entertaining programme.

We’ve teamed up with the WOMAD Foundation again to run creative workshops at local venues and partnered with Edinburgh’s Africa in Motion Festival and London’s Film Africa to widen our programme. With director talks, online links to Nairobi, digital discussions, African food, a parade and exhibition of Swahili kanga cloths plus the gorgeous Zanzibari singer Mim Suleiman at the opening party, this is Afrika Eye 2013!
